Description: This course provides and in-depth look at the scan tools and the electronic diagnostic information used in a Chrysler Group dealership. Specifically, this course details the use of the DRB III®, StarSCAN and TechCONNECT. The student should have some basic knowledge of automotive repair, the use of basic hand tools, and a basic understanding computer controlled vehicle systems such as engine management. This course is for the novice technician as well as the seasoned veteran that would be starting a career at a Chrysler Group Dealership 1. Access the TechCONNECT home page from DealerCONNECT, initiate a session, view diagnostic procedures, wiring information, service bulletins, repair procedures, parts information as well as use the TechCONNECT search feature. 2. Access TechTOOLS from the DealerCONNECT homepage, updated the DRB III®, flash a vehicle ECU using the DRB III®, download a data recording template to the DRB III®, and view vehicle live data. 3. Use the DRB III® to view DTC information, view diagnostic data, view system monitor information and test actuators. 4 Use the DRB III® as an Oscilloscope, a DVOM and a Digital Pressure Tester. 5. Use the StarSCAN to view DTC information, view diagnostic data, test an actuator, run a system test, conduct a miscellaneous function and view OBD monitor information. 6. Update the StarSCAN and use the StarSCAN to flash a vehicle ECU 7. Use the StarMOBILE to view DTC information and view live data as a pass through. 8. Use the StarMOBILE to perform data recording functions and view results.
